So I came across this. Apparently it was supposed to be an interview with Sievan Siewsarran from Lynchpin, Necropollis, and some other guys from bands in the Caribbean talking about their scenes etc, but ended up becoming a train-wreck.
- How long has the Caribbean scene been going and who was the first band?
SS: Tricky question… I am unsure of the exact band names and dates… maybe more like the 1970’s… Bands like Warhead, Bloodshed, Transylvania Zoo, etc.
EA: I have very little knowledge on such things (They’re not remotely important to me). However, I can say that DARK CIRCUS (now ORISHA SHAKPANA) was the first metal output from Jamaica, and CONRAD; the first from Barbados.
Which Caribbean Metal scene is the most successful and how big is the overall regional scene?
EA: Arrrgh. Once again, I have little knowledge on these things. Generally speaking, the Caribbean ‘metal scene’ is lame, whiney & weak. The concept of ‘success’ is dead. Bands hardly write material & they keep performing the same tracks & covers continuously. They don’t even TRY to be of any substance at all, thus they end up being detrimental to themselves. Wimps.
Which is the most popular metal genre?
SS: I think it is Death Metal down here… I was lucky to be in one of the bands that made it popular, Necropollis and now continue to evolve the genre into Deathcore / Progressive Metal with Lynchpin.
WK: Well, in terms of listening I’d say Thrash, Skate Punk, Metalcore and Djent. Also bands like ABR, BMTH and that kind of thing. In terms of playing I’d say Metal/Deathcore. Djent is seemingly on the rise at the moment.
EA: Trashy Metalcore, if you even want to call that a genre of metal.
What countries have a known metal scene in the Caribbean?
EA: Trinidad & Tobago, Belize & Guyana. Mainly home to rubbish bands.
*Speechless.

| Lockdown Drive (10 Year Anniversary Concert) |

Wed Aug 24, 2011 2:46 pm
Saturday, October 29 at 5:00pm - October 30 at 4:00am 10 Years ago a concert was held in south Trinidad...
This concert was so epic that to this day all that attended still speak of it...
Head bangers banged their heads, moshers moshed all night and a few people made trips to neighbouring medical facilities due to minor injuries sustained during attempts at jumping off the stage, casual strolls through the mosh pit and drinking too much puncheon...epic!
10 years ago we made history by having an all original, local contingent playing all original music brewed right here in Trinidad.
This year as we commemorate 10 years rocking we present to you Lockdown- Drive!
On October 29th 2011 all roads lead to The Kay Donna Drive In for a concert so epic it will be spoken of for years to come...
10 Years....10 Bands....1 Stage...Lockdown
More info coming soon
